Here's an interesting question of the day... apparently CNN.com thinks that Tom Kean, Jr. is running for RE-ELECTION in New Jersey.
Kean campaign HQ targeted by vandals
MOUNTAINSIDE, N.J. (CNN) -- The contentious New Jersey senate race became even more hostile Tuesday after the campaign headquarters for Republican candidate Tom Kean Jr. was vandalized.
Police in Mountainside responded to a call shortly after 7 a.m. from a Kean campaign worker who said he was locked inside the commercial building that serves as the hub for Kean's re-election campaign, Mountainside Police Capt. Richard Osieja said. Police found that all six entrances to the single-story building had broken keys jammed in their door locks and the main entrance was chained with a padlock, he said.
Within hours of the discovery, Kean's campaign manager, Evan Kozlow, accused Democratic challenger and incumbent Bob Menendez of being behind the act. "It appears the Democrats have already resorted to Election Day tricks," Kozlow said. "Desperate ploys such as (this) will not prevent us from informing voters that Bob Menendez is under federal criminal investigation and is unfit to serve in the United States Senate."
Menendez's camp immediately fired back, saying they were not responsible for the vandalism. "We had nothing to do with it," Menendez spokesman Brian Fallon said. "This is typical trash on Election Day. It's a ridiculous accusation. Tom Kean Jr. has been trying to distract the public's attention with false charges against Senator Menendez and he's continuing to do that in the final hours of the campaign."
Mountainside police are investigating, Osieja said.
