... is definitely not Folger's. Blegh. (I need better coffee.)
In the morning, when I actually get out of bed, I like to drink coffee. Specifically, I like to drink organic, fair-trade (medium to dark roast) coffee blend recently ground for my french press. (I need to purchase my own grinder.) Coffee from a french press tastes so much fuller, and it definitely gives me a huge boost. Also, last year the only store I got my coffee from was Starbucks, but now that I live in Northampton, I get my beans at Haymarket Cafe. I think their house blend is superior to Starbucks, and they give their customers free wireless. I have yet to try the other blends, but I have high expectations. (Not to mention other coffee shops in Northampton.)
On the down side, I have to drink something akin to a liter of water, otherwise I get really dehydrated and start to perspire. Starting the day whacked out on a caffeine buzz without any hydration really makes the afternoon uncomfortable. I have begun pacing myself with water lately just trying to maintain good hydration. So, that liter in the morning isn't a bad thing.
This isn't to say I don't enjoy some sort of orange and friends mixed juice in the morning, or even milk, but things get complicated when I have a bowl of cereal with juice and coffee. I just feel wasteful or even ridiculous with such a morning drink variety. I need things fairly simple when I first get up. If I were to have a bowl of cereal, I would most likely have a glass of milk with it, then possibly some coffee after I was done eating. Then if I were still craving the juice, I'd drink it. I think having fresh fruit is a lot better though. So, I'll opt for fresh fruit with my breakfast if I can.
